
Epica is a Dutch symphonic metal band founded in 2002 by Mark Jansen and has grown into one of the biggest names in the genre. The band combines heavy metal with orchestral arrangements, choir vocals and the powerful soprano voice of Simone Simons. With albums such as The Phantom Agony (2003), Design Your Universe (2009) and The Quantum Enigma (2014), they conquered a global audience. Their ninth studio album Aspiral was released on April 11, 2025 and includes singles such as Cross The Divide and T.I.M.E., which received international attention and firmly put the band back in the spotlight. Epica has been touring the world for years and is a regular fixture at major metal and rock festivals.
